Take the cog railway from Montreux to the Rochers de Naye and take in one of the most stunning panoramic views in Switzerland, over the mountains of the Alps and Lake Geneva. Once here, there’s a whole host of family activities for visitors to enjoy.

The cog railway departing from Montreux takes you up the mountain to Rochers de Naye at an altitude of 2,042 m. The picturesque 55-minute journey is a pleasure in itself. The little train takes you from Lake Geneva and up into the mountains, offering you stunning views as you travel.

When you get to your destination, you’ll be stunned by the majestic panoramic view over the Alps, the Riviera and Lake Geneva. Once you’ve had your fill of this unique view in Switzerland, continue your adventure in the “La Rambertia” alpine garden with its collection of 1,000 alpine plants. Then it’s time for the Marmots Paradise, a delightful animal park where children adore looking at different species of marmot from all over the world in their burrows.

Highlight

In winter you can walk through the snow in the morning of the summit and by contrast, have a coffee at one of the terraces on the Montreux Riviera.

Eating and drinking

There are two restaurants to choose from, the panoramic Plein Roc or the Alpin, the choice is yours! Discover also the “Buvette de Jaman” to enjoy the cosy atmosphere.

Good to know

lt’s party time on the mountain too! During the summer, the Jazz train, the Montreux–Les Rochers de Naye race and the midsummer celebrations bring the mountain to life. In winter, when the Christmas Market lights up Montreux, Father Christmas moves up to his new home at the summit.
